Unique Factors

The full-time MBA at the University of Victoria is intense, integrative, international and experiential. A cross-functional approach encourages you to find solutions using the skills and knowledge acquired in many subject areas while introducing you to the challenges of conducting business across borders and working effectively within diverse groups.

The UVic MBA Program begins with the Essentials of Business and Leadership (EBL) Module.  A full-time and intensive four-week experience, EBL provides students with the big picture of business and leadership.  Students build competencies and knowledge in areas such as leadership, creative decision making, team building, presentation skills, case analysis, finance, marketing and strategy.

Students also participate in two Integrative Management Exercises ( 1 domestic and 1 international). Organizations present the students with challenges and problems that they are facing.  After research and analysis, student groups present their findings to the client.  For the International IME, students travel to Europe, Asia or Mexico for 12 days assessing market opportunities for clients.
