Sauder School of Business

Unique Factors

- The Early Career Masters (ECM) is a one-year, pre-experience, Master of Management degree designed to provide a foundation in a broad spectrum of business management disciplines, focusing on practical knowledge and skills that employers are looking for.
- The program is designed for individuals with bachelor’s degrees in non-business disciplines such as Arts, Science, and Engineering and provides individuals with an opportunity to gain valuable business skills that are beneficial to a career in any industry or sector.
- The program is a unique offering for a North American business school, since it is going against the trend of accepting pre-experience students into an MBA program, as many North American schools have done.  Unlike a traditional MBA program, the Early Career Masters program is designed for students who have little or no work experience.
- Graduates of the program receive a Master of Management degree from the Sauder School of Business at UBC, a school that is internationally recognized for excellence in business management research and outstanding faculty.
- The program includes career development workshops on topics such as resume writing, interview skills, and networking. In addition, students will benefit from job fairs, exclusive recruiting events, and company information sessions organized by Sauder’s business career centre.
- Students have the option to participate in Study Abroad programs and internship opportunities.
