International Entrepreneurship Development (IED): A unique opportunity for Laurier MBA students to gain international experience while developing their global network. Students spend two weeks working as a consultant in real-time scenarios facing new venture firms.
International Business Elective; Students have the opportunity to include this elective as one of their ten choices in the MBA Degree. Laurier offers full content MBA's - covering 20 half-credit courses and approximately 700 hours of in-class participation, necessary to meet the stringent requirements of a graduate level degree. Laurier’s full content MBA degrees provide an extensive choice of electives and the ability to specialize in particular areas.
Laurier's MBA programs are taught in an integrated format, where all eight core subjects are taught simultaneously. Recognizing that managers are not faced with business issues solely labeled 'marketing', 'accounting' or 'organizational behavior', the core subjects are taught in an integrated fashion that demonstrates how all aspects of management are related to each other. The idea behind an integrative curriculum is to show the interrelationships that exist in any organization.
Laurier's MBA students come from a wide variety of academic and industry backgrounds, creating a rich diversity within the classroom. This, coupled with an average of 8 years of work experience allows students to learn from each other as well as from the faculty and content. The open classroom environment and small class sizes encourage rhetoric and a free flow of ideas, where individuals can share perspectives.
