School Name

Laurier School of Business and Economics

Unique Factors

The Laurier MBA is a full content MBA offered in several formats and two locations, (Waterloo and Toronto) offering world class faculty, a diverse classroom experience, and an integrated format with case study method.

Laurier MBA with Co-op student candidates experience two co-op work term placements. We’ve had 100% placement rate of our MBA with Co-op students since the program started.  That placement includes primarily the GTA, Waterloo region and some international positions.

The Schlegel Centre for Entrepreneurship Speakers Series: Monthly Speaker Series featuring talented International and Domestic entrepreneurs and writers to inspire and empower.

Entrepreneur in Residence Program: Each term a different successful entrepreneur is invited to spend individual one-on-one time with our business students.

International Entrepreneurship Development (IED): A unique opportunity for Laurier MBA students to gain international experience while developing their global network. Students spend two weeks working as a consultant in real-time scenarios facing new venture firms.

International Business Elective; Students have the opportunity to include this elective as one of their ten choices in the MBA Degree. Students in this course will choose one or more countries to visit during a two week period during the term, and they will visit numerous business, corporations and government facilities. The students are given valuable “hands on” insight to the business relationships and workings of global cultures.

Waterloo Campus is in the heart of Canada’s Technology Triangle

The Laurier Toronto MBA Campus is located at the St. Andrews Club and Conference Centre , on the 27th floor of the Sun Life Financial Tower, at the corner of King and University in downtown Toronto

Laurier offers full content MBA's - covering 20 half-credit courses and approximately 700 hours of in-class participation, necessary to meet the stringent requirements of a graduate level degree.  Laurier’s full content MBA degrees provide an extensive choice of electives and the ability to specialize in particular areas.

Laurier's MBA programs are taught in an integrated format, where all eight core subjects are taught simultaneously. Recognizing that managers are not faced with business issues solely labeled 'marketing', 'accounting' or 'organizational behavior', the core subjects are taught in an integrated fashion that demonstrates how all aspects of management are related to each other. The idea behind an integrative curriculum is to show the interrelationships that exist in any organization.

Laurier's MBA students come from a wide variety of academic and industry backgrounds, creating a rich diversity within the classroom. This, coupled with an average of 8 years of work experience allows students to learn from each other as well as from the faculty and content. The open classroom environment and small class sizes encourage rhetoric and a free flow of ideas, where individuals can share perspectives.
